What is OROP?

The One Rank One Pension (OROP) ensures that defense personnel of the same rank and length of service receive the same pension, regardless of their retirement date. It was implemented to address pension disparities for armed forces retirees.

The government adjusts Dearness Allowance (DA) every six months based on inflation, impacting pension calculations for defense pensioners.
